Being a Pug and working at Embellishments isn’t always fun and games. Sometimes I have it quite ruff. Here are some things that drive me crazy!
- When they tell the UPS driver that I DON’T need a treat.
- When they tell my friend Cordelia that I can have only 1 treat. She wants to give me three!
- When they tell the Fed Ex driver that I DON’T need a treat
- When customers say I look just like the dog in “Men In Black”. That Pug was a dog.
- When they tell Carolyn (who works with me) that I can’t lick her soup bowl clean.
- When I have my nasty zapper collar on and there is a beautiful girl dog sitting just outside the open door. Arrrghhh. (I’ve been known to bust through the zapper. You gotta take a hit once in a while)

I know I’m just a Pug, but sometimes I wish that I could wear some of the beautiful jewelry I see the clients buying in my store. I’m not sure about the earrings they seem to get so excited about, but I can’t help but think that a heavy metal necklace would look excellent on my manly chest.
I’ve tried to wear the zulu grass necklaces, but they are too dainty for a Pug. Wouldn’t you think that my appearance would be the first thing on Ashely and Melinda’s minds when they are at market buying for the store? I too should be Embellished!

Hi, i’ts Earl again.
My friend Matthew came to see me the other day. I guess, from what his mom says, seeing me is just about the highlight of his Steamboat trips. He talks about me on the plane when they are on their way, he comes to my store as soon as they get to town, and he always comes to say goodbye before they leave. His family has some other kind of dog, but he says he won’t be happy until they get a Pug. He is one smart kid. I wish he would bring me treats.

Hello, everyone! It’s Earl the Pug here.
An excellent day from my perspective. We got a shipment of purses from Cambodia. They think I am interested in the purses, but oh my, when they open that box I am transported to exotic and Pug perfect places. I can tell just from the pungent aromas coming from the box that there is a world of street food and freedom unlike anything I will ever know in Steamboat. Sometimes when the box is empty I jump in it and just let my imagination go wild. I know of course, that Confucious wrote about Pugs, and we have a long and venerable history beginning in Asia. Surely I would receive the respect and admiration I so deserve in a place like Cambodia. Well, a Pug can dream can’t he.

My name is Earl Edinburg and I am a Pug.
I work at my mom’s store, Embellishments. I am the official greeter and entertainer of husbands and children. It’s a very important job. You can’t believe how many people come in the store just to say “Hi” to me. I’m crazy about the kids, they smell so good. On busy days it’s hard to get enough sleep. I’m approaching legendary.
This is one of my favorite things to do in the store; I lie really still in my bed under the table and just when I’m sure that a customer thinks that I am a stuffed dog, I open my eyes !! It makes them shout and say “oh my!” I get a lot of attention that way. My other favorite thing to do is help myself to some ones lunch that was tucked away within Pug reach. Score.

Surely, one of the most fun parts of retail is the shopping. We just arrived in San Francisco and the gift show starts tomorrow. We feel a little like Simon and Randy looking for new talent. There are the usual vendors that we hope will have something fabulous and new, and the hunt for the new vendors that have everything perfect and affordable. We actually look at merchandise and say “so and so would love this”. We buy with you in mind. So, tomorrow the hunt begins and we can hardly wait.
